 pleegzorgvlanderen  was founded in 1998 as  subsidiary organization of World Pleegzorg in Belgium-flaman region. World workers give actual introduction and copmrehensive information about  selection of family process to Pleegzorg Oost-Vlanderen's selection team. in the next step, this information is brought into education and when the foreign-origin families become candidate for fostering, selection team is ready to possible questions and sensibilities. Especially within the scope of world project; Candidate families may select individual selection process. Information about these families are given to selection team. Counselling is given to the world worker in case of child-intake.

Works of pleegzorg can be collected under 4 headings:

1 guidance: professional pedagogical counselling  given to the child,foster familiesand biological families in the pocess of fostering

2-child intake:sensitivity in children’s intake: examine procedure

3-selection and matching:selection procedure that follows the application for fostering, procedure of matching with foster families and child.

Studies of World Project has been improved recent years and these studies involve the activities which are written below:

1-to place foreign-born children to foreign origin family or flemish family, and counselling them about different culture.

2-to create awareness for foreign-origin communities and increase the number of foster families in foreign-origin communities

3-to advise and make cooperation with Pleegzorg Oost-Vlaanderen in the  process of selection of foster family and child intake

Training Program has been prepared for Flemish families who took care of a foreign-origin child or refugee child.

Criteria of applications that will be included in the scope of world project has been determined. Thse criterias are reviewed by together with world workers and team. Concrete questions have been prepared to determine the applications that will be included in the scope of world project. These criteria and questions collected in writing were converted into an World-procedure.

4 World collaborate in inter-regional workshops.

What we realized in 2013:

Brochures and banners were renewed:Turkish/Dutch and arabic/French/Dutch versions have been published. A communication programme was prepared to introduce foster family service in foreign-origin communities. introduction meetings were organized

promotional campaigns were carried out inEast Flemish Region and contacts were established with NGOs related to foreigns for cooperation. Two tuekish families were involved in foster families. Collaboration contacts were established with Turkey. Our attitude to different languages,religions,traditions etc is always respectful and sensitive.
